This 2-hour workshop will explore the voice using meditation, therapy ball rolling, breath awareness, visualization, restorative yoga, movement, sounding, and singing. The aim of the workshop is to empower and inspire you to use your voice freely and with full expression, gaining more awareness of the connection between your voice and body.
This workshop is designed for singers, people who have no interest in singing, anyone who has been told they have a "bad voice" and is scared of singing, those who would like to be able to say "no" more confidently, anyone who has trauma related to expressing their truth or anyone who has experienced physical trauma in their throat area, anyone with health issues relating to the voice, anyone who feels unheard or has difficulty speaking up, and anyone else who is curious about using their voice in a more free, uninhibited manner.
Meet Your Instructor:
Ali is a trained vocalist and voice teacher, a 500-hr yoga teacher, craniosacral & massage therapist, and a lifelong student.
Ali has always loved singing, but it has not been an easy journey for her. She first discovered yoga and movement practices when she kept losing her voice over a decade ago, and realized how disconnected she was to her body, and how much her childhood trauma affected her nervous system and her ability to connect to her voice, causing her to suffer from severe stage fright and anxiety around singing and performing. These physical and mindfulness practices have transformed her relationship to her voice, giving her more confidence, agency, facility, and ease with her singing.
Her workshops are explorative in nature, encouraging self-reflection and empowerment, using the voice as a tool for self-discovery.
